We Love Labrador Retrievers
The Winnebago Labrador Retriever Club (WLRC) is an AKC licensed club that was designed to encourage and promote the quality of pure-bred Labrador Retrievers and to highlight the versatility, trainability, and beauty of the breed.
Our History
In 1972, Sally McCarthy Munson of Shamrock Acres Kennels in Waunakee, Wisconsin called together a small group of Labrador breeders and the seeds of the Winnebago Labrador Retriever Club (WLRC) were sown. January 1973 became the official birth date of the club and the charter members represented the most active and influential breeders in the area.
WLRC hosted four of the most successful National Specialties ever held before embarking on its first local specialty show in 1984.

A Step By Step Guide:

STEP 1: Attend a Meeting

Get in touch with our secretary, Linda Waco, to obtain meeting details and schedule your attendance.

STEP 2: Find a Sponsor

To become a member, you must have two (2) current members in good standing as your sponsors.

STEP 3: Membership Form

While attending a meeting, request a membership form.

Complete the form, which includes questions about your Labradors and your involvement in dog sports or conformation. This helps us get to know you better.

If you are a breeder, ensure that you adhere to the Breed Standard of the parent AKC club and follow ethical guidelines for breeders.

STEP 4: Candidacy Announcement

At the subsequent meeting you attend, your filled membership form will be read to the membership.

You will be formally listed as a candidate for membership.

STEP 5: Membership Vote

At the next meeting you attend after becoming a candidate, the members will vote on your membership.
